Yes, it works equally well in either hand.
We recommend draping your index finger lightly over the top of a filled HydraPouch as shown in the picture at right. Holding the HydraPouch in this way is very comfortable, it keeps the top sealed well, and it allows for a natural arm swing while running. Of course, there are lots of ways to carry a HydraPouch and you should experiment to find the way that works best for you, but most people find this to be the most comfortable and effective.

The HydraPouch is made of recyclable food grade silicone rubber – the same material used to make baby bottle nipples and many common kitchen utensils. The belt clip on the HydraPouch is made of polypropylene – a recyclable food grade plastic commonly found in food and beverage containers.
No. Silicone rubber is made from silica, which is a combination of Silicon and Oxygen. Silicon is the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust, and silica is found in sand and rocks literally all over the planet.

Yes, silicone rubber is recylable. While it will last and work great for many years, if it is not recycled it will eventually degrade naturally into the silica from which it was made.
An UltraSpout-equipped high-speed dispenser can fill a HydraPouch with six ounces of water or sports drink in one second.
No, it does not contain Bisphenol A, commonly known as “BPA”.
The HydraPouch can be easily cleaned with soap and water and dried with a cloth or paper towel. It does not require special brushes, cleaning agents, or fancy gizmos to hold it open while it dries. It can be cleaned with the belt clip installed, or the belt clip can be easily removed and cleaned separately. It can also be turned inside out for easier access to the inner surfaces. Don’t worry – it will return to its original shape when you flip it right-side-out again!
Yes, the HydraPouch is dishwasher safe on your dishwasher’s top shelf. We suggest turning it inside out before putting it in the dishwasher, and making sure it’s upside down so the water drains out. When it’s clean, turn it right-side-out again and it will return to its original shape.
No. When used as intended, the HydraPouch will not discolor or become stained by sports hydration products.
No. The HydraPouch can withstand extremely high temperatures without damage or deformation.

You can try it, but you probably won’t like it. The HydraPouch is designed to be carried in your hand when it is full, and on your shorts, race belt, or hydration belt only when it is completely empty.
Absolutely. The HydraPouch was designed to clip easily to all types of hydration and nutrition belts, allowing you to get all of HydraPouch’s hydration and environmental benefits when you drink the on-course products in addition to those you carry on your belt. And from our research and experience it’s clear: even though you carry your own special nutrition and hydration products, you still want to use the on-course products many times during a typical race. Like in longer races when that stuff in your hydration belt gets warm and you need something cold and refreshing, or when you just need something different.
Absolutely – the HydraPouch works great in any race. You’ll still get all the hydration benefits – more comfortable drinking with no splashing, spilling, or gulping – and because you’ll be drinking your fluids instead of wearing them you’ll probably use fewer cups.
The fastest way is to contact the race organizer and ask if they will be supporting Cup-Free Racing.
